Response to To dril or not to drill? Convert solid to hydraulic lifters?

had the front-to-back galleries already drilled from the factory. All we had to do was to drill and tap the slant feeds at the back of the valley. We did this to provide pressure oiling for solid rollers as part of a comprehensive re-do of the center oiling system. Such deep-hole work seems to require a boring mill equipped with a 15" boring reamer. The mill we used, at Roush's shop, was large enough to require climbing up on it to do set-up. You can probably find pictures in an '02 Mustang Illustrated.

<edit> My daughter found pictures of the shop work and just today brought them to me. If anyone's interested, I can probably arrange email. (I never have mastered the trick of posting photos properly here, although I don't seem to have trouble sending them to an email address.) KS
