I need a tester with clips, mine are back probes. I also cant bend much. At least the header tube is out of the way. But the solenoid stuff I saw today make me wonder if my battery and or the solenoid and the starter are in a dead short. KOEO the electric fuel pump and the TFI ignition didn't even faze the tester with just them, so they aren't drawing much of anything. With the charger hooked up, I got a fat spark from the coil when I toggled the points. And it didn't drop the voltage any.
But the battery dropping like that just kicking the solenoid alone makes me wonder. My load tester is two hours away down at the old shop, my nephew is using them, the ARBST, the scan tool, my old distributor machine, etc. I feel like I'm using caveman tools compared to what I was used to.
