Now that my head is clear, and the fumes have disapated, I needed to take the time to thank you for your suggestion for removing the plastic and the glue from polished stainless steel. You were absolutely RIGHT ON with the "liquid fertilizer" idea! After sitting overnight with EASY OFF OVEN CLEANER, I washed that off, found the glue to be soft, so I hit it with full strength ammonia, and by damn, with a little rubbing it came right off! Other suggestions such as carburetor cleaner, acetone, etc. didn't even phase it! I'd just as well been running cold water over it!! It just goes to show ya, that there is somebody out there that knows the "trick" or "secret" to getting a tough task done efficiently. I have since then, placed cloth soaked in ammonia on the surface of the plastic and about an hour later gone back, and the plastic peels off much easier. What was originally taking about 1 hour to remove the plastic now takes about 10 minutes per piece[20"x 30".] Many thanks to any /all members who offered suggestions-- all of which were tried! Dean
