C-6 trans brake

Don't remember if I posted that I've been having problems with my tranny since I installed a TCI trans brake. The trans brake worked fine except that it rolled into third gear slowly. I talked to a guy in Canada named Frank Merckl who told me that the problem was the two check ball canals in the lower half of the valve body were too wide and too long and the spacer plate holes for the check balls were too small. His fix was to driil the holes in the spacer plate to 7/32 for the upper one and 5/32 for the lower one. Then fill the check ball canals with JB weld and using the spcer plate for alignment drill a 9/32 hole 9/32 deep at each check ball hole. Then route a canal from hole to hole. Clean and re-assemble the valve body and re-install. Today I did the mod and the trans shifted into all gears while the car was on jack stands. It seems like the problem has been solved but I won't know for sure till I take the car out to the track on Thurs. Frank says that TCI has been told of this problem but they refuse to correct it. When I called them they acted like there was nothing wrong with their product and that it was something that I had done wrong. I'm glad and thankful that Frank was generous and kind enough to talk to me and help me solve this problem. I hope my bad experiance helps someone else that mey be having the same problem. There's step by step instructions for this fix on the trans forum plus how to build a C-6 with all the good stuff. Check it out.
