I am well aware of all of the distinct differences between the standard 289 and the 289 HiPo. What I meant was that you could buy everything necessary to make your own 289 HiPo car, up to and including a complete engine, over the counter at the Ford dealership. You could buy a bare HiPo block, and you could buy HiPo heads. You could buy the cam kit and the special fan. You could buy the big HiPo carb and the high flow air cleaner. Etc Etc Etc. I just didn't think I had to be that specific.
