I have been hording parts for a few years, and now I think I am in the position to finally get moving on this transplant. Has anyone here put a 385 series into an early Galaxie? What about motor mounts? Crites lists for the 63, but not the 62 (typical for a 62) I can't help but wonder what the difference would be. Also, I think someone was stuffing a TKO 600 into an early Gal. Can you offer the specifics of what was done to the tunnel? I am on the fence about what tranny to use. Supposedly, these motors make in the range of 700 foot pounds of torque. I like the idea of an overdrive, so I've been considering a TKO, but am concerned about the torque rating. The other option is the standard top loader capable, but no overdrive. I like to drive this car all over. It will not have slicks on a track, but it WILL be beat on from stop light to stop light and on back roads in school zones, etc... I am curious to hear your thoughts.
