...is the carb. The cam I use for the street Boss 9 engines hase a real wide LSA, low ICL, and they will idle at 850-900 rpm. Peak hp is at 6000 and peak torque is down in the mid 4k range. That's with a 4.300" stroke. I think these engines can be very manageable if necessary.
With that being said, the 3-circuit Dominator carbs make it harder to get a street friendly tune...but it's either feast or famine...hahaha
