Another thread got me thinking about rocker-shaft oiling.

About the necked down bolt thingy.... I understand about how the bolt being slightly smaller allows oil to flow past it to the rocker shafts. Instead of a thinner bolt, why not make the hole through the rocker stand ever so slightly larger up to the rocker shaft? Seems like it would accomplish the same thing and you would also have a stronger bolt. We're talking just a few thousandths here. Also the deal with plugging the oil hole with a Holley carb jet... if the gap between the bolt and the rocker stand was figured correctly, wouldn't that also restrict flow and you wouldn't need to drill and tap for a jet?
