Can't buy any good stuff in California anymore. To me 3M 82 black works ok, degrease each side, let dry and or wipe with a clean dry Scott shop rag. Then apply to one side and press into place but pull apart then let it tack up before putting into place. You can also put it on both sides in a thin coat (smear with finger) let tack up then put in place. Clean fingers and goobers with wax and grease remover.
