Hi,
I am working on putting together a 67 S-Code Fastback for a guy. It has been apart since the mid-70's if not before. It is Candyapple Red, with the only options being a tach and AM radio. It is rumured to have been only driven on the street for 2 years before the 390 was yanked (the odometer still shows 22K). It was said to have ran a 427 in Modified Production. The car came from Chicago in the early 1980's and ended up at a salvage yard that sold "repairables". At that time we looked at it and it still looked like a new car!!! The motor and trans where gone but a MR 8V set-up was in the trunk. It had a late-60's type single-hoop roll bar behind the the drivers seat and a pair of Traction Masters..... Well we did not buy it and it sold a few days later. Now 30 years later it came For-Sale about 50 miles away with a few parts gone and showing some age due to some damp storage and a few dents and dings but otherwise still really nice.
It was sold new a C Bradshaw Harvey Ford on the southside which from my underdstanding was a small dealership that sold quite a few performance cars in the 60's.... It still wears the C Bradshaw Harvey Ford decal on the taillight panel... Today we pullled the 9" to put in a 3.50 TL not knowing what was in it... Well it had the date code correct case but a equal-lok diff with 5.13 gears! There was also a Hurst Comp-Plus shifter that looked like new but did not have the reverse lever with a "lock-out" rod so I would think that is a pretty early parts as well... Thanks
