Ford Performance by Pat Gnahl (sp?) there is a chart. I'll have to find my book. My old marine 427 block had a yellow and blue dawb of paint in the lifter valley. I also had a 1979 Capri turbo, that had different colors on the block for the same purpose, as the block was coded as on the high end of the bore tolerance for turbo use, IIRC
