Go after the guy that sold you the car. He would have to have a bill of sale or a title to prove that he had the legal right to sell the car. How do you know the person really owned the car? To get a registration in Georgia, the vehicle has to be inspected by the DMV or a police officer to confirm the VIN. Which means that the car has to be in Georgia and does not show up in some other data base. Be safe and go back to the seller. He has no legal right to sell a vehicle that he does not have a clear title to in his name.
