If the male parts (bolt) is stuck in female part (head) then cooling the bolt will transfer coolness to the larger head too or the head will absorb it and not let the bolt chill like it ought to.
The heat also dissolves the rust where my extensive wintertime experiments have proven coldness does not get rid of rust.
Maybe it works better with a stainless bolt in an aluminum head.
