A couple of questions

Hi all,

Two ponderings.

1.) When converting a standard block to use solid lifters, should the lifter oil passages be blocked off?

2.) Does anyone make an aftermarket crank for the 390 3.78 stroke? It seems all I could find are for the 410/428 3.98 stroke or bigger.

The reason I ask is because I am pretty sure I spun a bearing at Road America two weekends back. It knocks loud and hard, but I have even compression in all cylinders so everything seems to be going up and down. I am guessing the 4/8 rod throw went, but won't know for sure until I tear it down this week.

The crank is already 30/30, so I am most likely shopping for another one. I want to keep my Scat H-beam rods (at least most of them) and forged KB pistons, so I can't stroke it.

I am thinking that blocking the lifter galleys would put more oil at the back bearings to avoid a repeat.

Opinions welcome.

Thanks,

Jeff
