I needed one for a 526 A head dragster. John Partridge was at Lunati then and he recommended an FE SS profile that was for a Thunderbolt. It was 292°/303° @ .050 .722/.695 on a 111° CL. John said it was a smooth profile for the FE so as not to stress the rockers. This was 1985 before all the nice rocker assy's that are available today.
He put the FE lobes on a 460 core for us. That cam was really nice. You couldn't hurt a lifter or spring if you tried.
You can make plenty of steam and go fast with a slow smooth lobe and maybe get the seat timing you want as well.
All the buzz now is duration @ .200 lift and intensity. That dragster went 7.70's @ 175 MPH in the 80's with a late 1970's FE profile. Old school sometimes fits the Bill. No pun intended LOL.
