I ask that because if it has enough "bounce" at high rpm, they can twist at that time. I am taking a break from the Custom to tinker on a square bird, and noticed new belts in the trunk, checked the motor and the belts are still good, they are Motorcraft brand, and are standing tall in the sheaves. (almost level across) Thinkin Motorcraft might be a dealer only source anymore.
I know that VW belt trick. I have a Continental belt, still in the orange cardboard wrap hanging on the wall. Thing feels like it was sliced out of the center of a car tread. Heavy as hell...
