Why did they make the 360 when

a 390 was such a better engine regarding power, low end torque, even mileage could be better than a well tuned 360. A 360 seems to be a really poor proformance engine. I haven't experienced any better mileage with one. It seems that everyone I meet wants to replace a 360 with at least a 390 or better. I did a search but if you don't get your wording exactly right, you get nothing!
