Tripower Distributor Clearance (again)

I planned to use my Mallory Unilite with the tripower but I see the coil wire clearance is an issue. Do I really have to spend $100 for (3) 1/2" carb spacers (which would maybe/possibly/almost clear the coil wire?) or is there a more cost effective solution? I am OK with a crab cap, if I can figure out which one I need for this distributor. Do I also need to change the cap clips and/or the rotor to use this cap? If so, I am probably back to $100+. I searched old posts but am still unclear on this.
