If it's in backwards, get a nice small chisel with a point and fold the lip in on the edge in a few places. Likely after the second time you get in there, you'll likely be able to grab it with vise grips or a pair of water pump pliers and fold it right out

As long as you only hammer on the lip and fold toward the center, it won't hurt a thing
