'63 Effie with a 330-390 in it, it also had a top-loader and long iron exhausts. The starter died and I replaced it with a 'super-dooper' Accel that turned out to be a cheap rebuild with a yellow paint job. I hadn't paid any attention to the later-type starter that failed, but it had a side cable-post.
In order to get things to fit without any contact, I ultimately removed the lock nut which was against the case, used a thin piece of teflon as an insulator, used only one nut to hold both the post in position and the cable lug-end tight, cut the post off even with the nut, and weaseled another piece of teflon into the very small space left when the manifold was in place. That finally lasted as long as I had that engine in the truck.
