Estimate how much these heads have been shaved

I have a pair of C4AE-G heads that I'd like to estimate how much have been shaved from them. On each head the thumb prints are .070" deep, the distance from intake bolts holes to deck are 1.850" and exhaust bolt holes to deck are .390".

I need to cut .015" to get the chambers to where I need them. Is this doable? Thanks.

factory distance is 1.908, so there is .060 off already. if you can remove another .015 and the thumbprints are still visible it will work

Pictures and another question

Thanks Fred. The thumbs are still .070" deep, so there is plenty according to your statement. Also, the lettering in the thumbs are still all there and not touched yet by the planing.

Here are some pictures. One other question; one head has fairly deep grooves from planing (see bottom picture) , is there a limit at which the shim type gaskets won't seal?

You can take another

.015 off those heads and have them put a smoother finish on at the same time for the shim gaskets. I have a set of 390 heads that have almost no thumb print left. They were milled for a stocker motor to build compression. Your intake isn't going to fit without some work though.
