Not painting the bottom with red oxide primer is going to make the concours crowd have fits. But the gloss black is my choice as well. So much eaiser to wipe clean and looks amazingly well detailed.
I told the shop it looks like a street rod merged into a muscle car. I figure I have one shot at making this right and I didn't want to regret not going the extra mile. Being a cloned Boss 9 will get me enough grief let alone the over-restoring. I did decide to put BOSS 557 stickers on the fenders instead of BOSS 429 so it will be it's own car.
Over Restored? Ah, screw em. Your car, your money, your time. Make it yours! When someone gives you crap just ask if they were in the garage with you restoring it or did they throw a few bucks in the kitty to cover some of the expense. IT'S YOUR CAR. The only one that count's is the boss. Does she like it? Saw her standing in front of the garage, keep her happy man.
Looks great. I was thinking about doing that but am thinking the undercoating will reduce noise. Won't really make much difference I guess with 2 1/2" duals running the length of the car, but would like to hear the stereo. Planned on installing sound deadener also.
Keep us up to date on your progress. It helps us folks behind you enthused.
Steve, What paint did you use for the undercarriage?

I have been trying to find something that will resist day to day road debris from occasional to moderate driving. Don't know whether to look for something that touches up easy or is just more "bullet proof" after application.
