I am going to a swap meet on Sunday and a friend of mine wants to sell a cast iron cobra jet intake and a pair of heads and a pair of cobra jet exhaust manifolds. What should I ask for these items? This will be at "back to the 50's" swap meet on sunday. I would like to have some idea what to ask as if sold at a swap meet no shipping will be required and they are so damn heavy that I am not looking forward to even putting them in my trailer. The manifold that is. Heads casting number is C8OE with a 6080-N also.
It depends on the condition but I'd take no less than 400 for good set of heads
no less than 300 for the manifolds and 100 for the intake.
But if was really hurting for cash maybe even less.
I have seen the manifolds sell on ebay in the 600 buck range and heads up in the 800 range.
Intake manifolds dated late 68- mid 69 have come down substantially to about 200-250. An early 68 is 600-800 and a late 69-early 70 is 300-400. Exhaust manifolds if not cracked are 500 and up if they have legible early 68 dates or again 70 which is different with no spacer. The heads same thing with dates but common late 68-mid 69 bare 400. early 68 upwards of 2K and late 69-70 600-800. Heads should be magged to get any of these prices. They made a ton of 69 CJ cars so while they are easy to sell due to needs they are also common and do not command the higher price of parts that came on 68 CJ and 70 CJ cars.
Dang I've got to remember this is 2012, but a there are some sweet deals still out there, it wasn't too long ago that I helped a guy tow and old green ford 4dr car out for junk, ended up being a 70 police car with a 429cj 4 bolt! They had no clue whatsoever just wanted it gone!
