So the good news first.
My track driving was better, this year.
I didnt scratch the paint
I got some video, running in noisy-mode
I got home safely
The bad news,
The clutch felt like it was slipping, a couple times,
And I had to cut my track day short, because;
Somewhere in my last series of laps, I completely lost my fan belt (cooling/alt)
And I Spun-Out.
I tried to remember the rule when you spin both feet in and I did get on the clutch fairly quick, but I am worried that I might have done some engine damage.
I drove the 60 or so miles home without incident, other than the engine being a touch hot. (+5 degrees)
But it sounded a little rough. This could be because coolant sprayed on the dizzy, but Im worried that it might be something more. Almost felt like a bad spark plug, but more subtle.
Then when something like this happens, you are listening for anything unusual. It does seem a little rough, though.
What could be the outcome of this, if I spun, and didnt get on the clutch soon enough?
I replaced the fan belt at the track and added about 4 litres of coolant, which didnt quite top it up.
