Tom, between John V and myself...

we have looked in EVERY garage in SE Michigan (incl Detroit). Pretty slim pickings lately, but one never knows when they might run across a cherry '66 Monterey, or even a '61 Meteor station wagon! Here's my last find: an M37 Dodge military pickup - I kinda like it. Randy Millard (Henrysnephew)

Randy, that paint is perfect

hard to find stripper mercs, as most people wanted an upscale from a ford. I did find a 61 merc in a junk yard that had a 223 with 3 on the tree, no power steering, brakes or radio. I just had to relieve it of it's radio delete plate.

a "stripper" Mercury is kind of an oxymoron. When I was in high school a buddy's dad drove a '68 Pontiac Catalina with a 3-on-tree manual trans - to this day the only one I have EVER seen. Randy Millard (Henrysnephew)

M37's and Mercs

April 18 2017, 6:52 PM

I would have guessed an M37 was a highway in Michigan? What a swoopy aerodynamic looking truck.

I saw a cool Merc in the swap meet parking lot at Monroe a couple years ago. A 56 two door sedan. Those are also pretty scarce as a non-hardtop two door. Even later 60's Ford two door sedans aren't very commonly seen, 68-69 Fairlanes and full size.
