Does anybody know if a spring with part number c8oz-7534-b will substitute for a spring with part number c5az-7534-A? The last number is for '65 Galaxie, while the first number is for a later Mustang '68-'73. The mustang spring looks very similar:http://www.cjponyparts.com/clutch-pedal-spring-includes-bushings-1969-1973/p/C8OZ7534B/

Thanks for any guidance you can give me on the interchange of these springs!

1965 clutch spring

1965 Galaxie didn't have rollers on ends of spring. 1966-68 did. They added the rollers in 66 because of excessive spring wear and binding. They also changed the geometry of the z bar to get a better mechanical advantage and smoother action. I may have a 65 spring (new repro) let me look.

Thanks, Larry. A '65 spring would be great!

Now that you've explained it, I recall using one of the springs with rollers on another '65 Galaxie, but I had to open up the notches on the frame pivot and z-bar to accomodate the larger diameter. I'd rather use the '65 spring if you have one. Please let me know.
