I need the specification's of a interlock pin for a top loader C5 case. I lost mine somewhere over the last 20-25 years. I can make one if I know the diameter and length. Thank You

Interlock Pin

Been there, done that ....

There's 6 different interlock pins, all a slightly different length. They are matched to both the type of groove in the rail, and the type of detent. I've made one before, they are hardened. Too soft and they mush, too hard they can chip. If you can match up what rails you have, I think David Kee still has them. Dan Williams will just sell you a kit with all matching parts (Rails, detents, and interlock), Not a bad idea, as everything is new and matches...

Here's a link ....

Some ID info ...

David Kee's site is a wealth of information, just look under the information link .

Hope this helps, John

Actually just noticed you have a C5 case, assuming all your rail parts came with the case, It narrows your interlock choices down to two. I don't have a C5 trans apart, or I'd measure the pin for you...

Well I took mine out.It would not drop fast enough during a power shift and it would be in neutral until I moved the shifter again.May be because my 1st one was from a 500 mile race from a NASCAR team Ford sent me when I was breaking the T10.It smelled like it to.So I cut the gears and sliders every other tooth to make a Doug Nash type set.Never used it on my 66 R code Fairlane and it isn't in the Galaxie now.If Erick wants to he can put one in,his choice of course being I never mentioned this to him never entered my min like lots of things now.
Besides if your shifter linkage is adjusted properly you don't need it,just my opinion.
