What amazed me on his Cx series heads was how he could stand the valves up onthe side axis

and make so much power, he still staggered them intake exhaust axis but stood them up in the bores. He built a lot of FE's I bet!

more looking and feeling of the handiwork than some folks will retain in a lifetime. And I really mean that, just handling one of his heads and really feeling the critical areas you have gained a huge semester of learning.
