427 head

anybody ever try to take the big hex headed bolt under the valve cover out, that goes into water jacket. Had head welded near it and it leaking alittle needs to be removed and sealed. Someone told me they broke a head tring to remove it thanks

Don't risk it !

You may pull the threads as it comes out. What You don't see it the backside. Ditch with a Ball, clean with Brake Cleaner, J/B Weld, and pressure test.

uh come on its just a hi riser head that what I did already but I have the heads off didnt know if there was another way thanks

Couldn't you just heat it up with a torch, and run some solder on it?

Sorta like when you solder copper pipes together?

The heat should pull the solder into the threads. Just don't heat it too much.

I have used "wicking locktite" with good results.
# 294 good to 450°f
