Broken speedometer repair tricks?

On the first road cruise with the 64 Gal I noticed the odometer works but the speedo doesn't. Any insight is appreciated.

John Draxler of the TBird Ranch has been very helpful to me with new, used and rebuilt parts for my 61 'Bird. Among them was a rebuilt speedometer. Very nice. I'll bet similar to 64. John has acres of TBirds and is very knowledgeable. Here is a link. Good luck.

I did see the one on ebay. Mine looks NOS but it doesn't register speed so I'd like to fix it.

It's fixed!

The collar on the back of the speedo was maybe a 1/16 of a turn from being tight. That did it.

Now the only thing that doesn't work are the horns. I found a pair of new repops on ebay for $95 shipped.
