Here's a update picture of our 56 gasser, getting a 427 implant with webbed carb set up install next , Rex is fabricating the flip front end and final touches on suspension.

Trying to come up with a colour now, should be real close to finishing this season.

Boy this project turned out to be quite the venture like to thank Rex Carter for all his fine talent making this project come together, one stop shop of body work and fabricating!!!!!

Got it through Suncoast Racecars out of Florida

Took a little while to get but solved some problems we had with the front sheetmetal. It's not perfect because its made of individual peices (nose, fenders, hood, scoop) all bonded together. But they were about the only place that could make a 1 peice for these cars. It seems pretty robust. We had it made with an extra layer of glass to make it a little tougher for street car use.

My dad had a '55 Club streetsweeper with my best 312 Y

February 14 2018, 7:21 AM

I could build, the 57 small chamber heads with 1.94 1.55 If I remember. A 750 Holley DP Jahns 12.5:1 pistons and best Y block cam from Isky and a 3.03 3 speed and 9 inch rear with home made ladder bars. I was just a kid and and helped him build it. He took down a lot of mid 60 hot stuff and lost his license a few times, he'd get to his last warning of being incorrigible with 10 year suspension, but few people chose off with him nothing sounds like a huge cammed high compression Y-block, and it was good for 6200 easily, I got to be an expert at in chassis valve spring changes happy.gif

I have always wanted to build a two tone green 2 dr Club sedan with an FE . If had thge body I would sell my galaxie minus engine and put the 394 C-6 in it! Good Lawd amighty! REx and Doug, that is a work of art and the baddest ass car that will do the 1320 or 1000?

BTW, the FE sounds great, but I wish you get the FH-Y firing order for the FE

February 14 2018, 7:36 AM

There is a website in St Louis for Mann's Restoration who put a 5.0 Coyote juiced up stout and they have the flathead Y firing order in a Bullet Bird, If you live around STL, you have likely heard it rip down the road on KMOV 4 for their commercial, and I think if you look up Mann's Restoration, they tell the story. That little engine is vicious and it sounds like a '50's alky blown FH. Visceral is the only word!
