answers to some of your questions

I got my ticket off the internet - cheaptickets.com. It's low season now so the tickets should be mroe reasonable. It was cheaper for me to get a 30 day ticket than to get a one way (also found out that we have to have a roundtrip ticket to enter the country) Now I'm working with the local Travel agent (Travel and Tour Belize) to get my round trip from the here (Belize) back to the US which is working out to be cheaper. They seem to be able to get better rates for tickets originating from Belize to the US. Not sure why but something to keep in mind.

Housing will not be a problem. I live in a great place that I found the same day I arrived. The housing coordinator is great. He will take you around to all of the places and then you can see what will suit your needs best. I also found a roommate when I got here. I wasn't going to have a roommate but then found a place that was bigger and the guy I was with also liked it so we ended up rooming together.

Most all the student have bikes which can be purchased on the island for between $85 US and $150 US.

I choose Belize because I had a friend who was already attending and really liked it. They said that the faculty are very good and the Administration really cares about the student.
