I think the bottom line is Finnegan knows feic all about football. He's obviously a good businessman and I do think he does care about the club.
I remember talking to him at the start of last season and he was convinced that we would finish in the top 3. Now even though I am a very optimistic supporter even I told him he was talking through his arse. The worst thing to happen to this club in recent years was Sheephead and Finnegan has to be held responsible for that. At the start of 1998/99 the club was very flush financially following the floatation yet just a year and a half later the club couldn't afford to sack Flanagan, that has to go down as very poor financial management. Does anybody this that would have happened to his company Ellickson Laser? Too fucking right it wouldn't -- why? -- because he knows the business and it's his own money he is losing.
However in saying all this what the club needs now is money and if he's prepared to throw in another 100K that's grand, as long as he doesn't have any say whatsoever in team affairs.
