Ray, you, of all people, should know I am no quitter. I have been a poster on this forum since a month after it started in 1998. Even though I have had no particular personal reason to attend this forum for over two years, I have still offered my opinions and knowledge whenever I deemed it to be beneficial to other posters. I have always tried to stear people in the right direction. Whether I was right or wrong is irrelevant, I stated my case as I saw fit, and tried to stay out of the fights. (Though not always successfully)
For over two years, I have had little to gain from this forum. Quite the contrary, I think I have contributed much more than I have gained. I will probably never again petition a K1, K3, or spousal visa. The only visa I can foresee I may have interest in the petitioning of in the future would be a visitors visa for my wife, if that ever came to be.
Few people on this forum even know me anymore. They don't have a clue how I learned some of these hard lessons, and probably just assume I am another "Joe".
At this time, I must re-assess my priorities regarding this forum. The popups have been causing a problem, but not near as much of a problem as a couple of the "popup stoppers" I have downloaded trying to alleviate this problem. I have spent countless hours trying to get rid of the problems triggered from these unnamed "Free downloads".
My computer is old and temperamental. However, I cannot at this time replace it. I rely on it for income and communication, so I cannot jeopardize it by endless downloading of alleged "cures" which often create more problems than they solve. I have far too much information on this machine to risk it's useability. I don't even open emails from unknown senders, or open anything that has been forwarded, or attachments unless I know what they are.
As it stands, the popups on this forum regularly jam my computer. There is a certian amount of risk involved any time this happens, and it has come to the point that I have to alleviate that risk as much as possible.
With that in mind, I have to ask myself, "What is more important?" The answer to that is, "My computer."
That being said, possibly you could understand why I must limit my visits to this forum to a very bare minimum.
My contributions here have been consistently diminishing in importantance anyway, due to changing INS regulations, etc, so I really see no reason to continue to risk losing so much to accomplish so little.
I have benefitted greatly from this forum, and tried to give back more than I benefitted. However, I must draw the line where the wellbeing of my compiuter is concerned.
See you on some of the other forums, and maybe once in a while, here.
Larry.
