I will also be in the animation program... I did attend, in 2002. Let's see... what else did you ask? What to bring? Funny you should ask me... y'see, back when I originally attended, I wasn't much of an artist at all..
I've improved marginally since then (although I'm still pretty shitty on the visual side... don't expect nothin' pretty from me), so let's see... if I were me now, but back then, what would I have brought?
Well, first of all, definitely get a masonite board that fits the proportions listed... i think it was 24" x 30"? Yeah, cuz if you get like some big monstrosity, you're gonna have some trouble, especially coming from Cleveland. Believe me... I come from Texas, also a far-away place. The airport ended up delivering mine cuz it got lost in baggage. Also, don't use the masonite board as a lunch tray. Well, actually, I guess maybe you could if it were the right size. I'm gonna have to try that this year.
Ok, so now I guess I should give you some useful information. They ask for a gallery piece. Bring something you've done in the past that you like. That shouldn't be too hard, right? Uh, don't try to come up with something brilliant the night before if you don't have anything, though. That's kinda what happened to me, and, being the non-artist I was, I began to learn how much I hate markers on that day. I mean, no offense if you like markers, but yeah, markers suck.
You might wanna get an extra eraser to bring along, but there's a convenience store down the way, so that's not a necessity. Bring your music, I guess, cuz my room always liked to share music. I would assume that's a universal thing.
Hm, I guess if you have something you can't live without, like something important to you, that's good to bring. I used to like my harmonica and my cape and my tape recorder. Actually, I still do, so I'm gonna bring those again. Yeah, so if you have something like that, it would be good to take. They ask for something like that for the program, too, if I remember correctly.
Also, you might need to bring drugs and alcohol, cuz it could be hard for a 17-year-old like yourself to get them otherwise.
Hahaha! I'm kidding! Drugs are horrible. Don't bring them. If you do, I won't like you. Also, alcohol. Both of them suck.
So, have a great day. I look forward to seeing you, Josh.
Sincerely,
Lieutenant Josh
