Last night's race night...a full report on a brilliant night

Race Night 2006

A record breaking night raised £1375.96 (breakdown below) for the club. This is valuable income for the club as it enters the close season. Incidentally this money is going straight to the club being delivered in a brown envelope later today! A packed Noel White Suite (standing room only) enjoyed a fun packed evening hosted by Toni of www.funracing.co.uk ably assisted by George Heslop who has threatened to unleash his wrath on Barry Pikesley for naming his horses 'Paris Hilton loves george Heslop' and 'Kirk Hilton Loves Geoege Heslop'!

Peter Band swept the board recieving the STAR player of the year award, Gary Warrington's Internet player of the year award and the players player of the year award. The STAR vote was very close though with 3 players sharing 90% of the vote; Peter getting 31% with Stuart Coburn and Colin Little each getting 29%. Graham Heatchote praised Bandy's 110% commitment whatever position he was asked to play and said this allowed the other players to play. Bandy apologised several times for playing for Northwich last season. Graham Heathcote also had high praise for Stuart Coburn saying he had become one of the 3 best keepers Alty had ever had (although this was met with "what do you mean best 3....he is the best!"). Dalton Steele spoke of Colin Little's achievement in scoring 17 Conference goals in a hard working side. STAR Chair Brian Flynn also presented webmeister John Laidlar with a bottle a champagne to express our appreciation for the best non league club website (John's wife Dana was also thanked for assisting John).

Campbell Mcklay won the case of wine in the draw for the race sponsors.

Grahame Rowley won the £100 prize for Steve Foster's Big treble Chance and Steve Foster was thanked for his monumental effort in selling the horses and the treble chance.
