I think that given the other fines handed out to other clubs re international clearance we will be cleared because Accy have already been fined for the offence.
Shame to see Scarboro sink so low..best of luck in jumping straight back up.
Respect to Scarboro FC and their fans for the honourable way they have behaved....going down with dignity. A lesson for tamworth and FGR methinks.
Because we only broke a technicality and with the mitigating circumstances m'lud I am also hopeful.
The actual 'offence' was not ticking the box... not playing the player over and over as there is no check in place to stop the rolling stone gathering moss from that point.
Also Crawley broke the wage cap rule match after match but they didn't get deducted points for every match played while the salary structure was wrong did they?
In addition your worship, because the points deduction happened so late in the season and because it was initially so ridiculously huge the club did not know what it had to do to avoid relegation (indeed with 18 points it was impossible) in terms of the remaining matches...we can argue even had it been 7 points we'd have known that we needed to win at Woking for example.
The usual penalty is around 1-3 points (4 for weymouth) and as the season has now past I can see the fine staying and maybe 1-3 points deducted from next season as deducting points now for last season is meaningless really unless it means we are relegated by it.
But I cannot see them effectively relegating a club who finished 3 points clear of the relegation zone for an innocent administrative error.
