I just wish our appeal had gone more along the lines of similar precedents as chronicled in the Blackadder stories.
First one to spring to mind of course being 'lawyer' George who upon recieving a letter requesting leagl help (as watertight as a mermaid's brassiere) instead of the sponge bag he bases his appeal on midless optimism "Oh go on your honour, let him off please?...after all, it's a lovely day pretty birds flowers trees etc, I rest my case"
Blackadder lost the case but this was overturned by George's Uncle wo has just been made minister of war so he yanked knobs and fiddled with screws and got the fella off...sort of a Noel White in reverse.
Finally of course there was what should have happened to Alty the minute we stepped through the soho sq lobby which was Queenie taking her time while deliberating her decision in Lord Farrow's appeal (who's head had actually already been severed much like Alty)..."Oh yes go on then let him off..he'd probably innocent anyway"
Happier Gaz? I always think of my favurite things when I'm sad.....raindrops on roses and soft coloured mittens...etc. |
