Boro player manager Neil Redfearn has blasted the club over the non payment of wages. Redfearn and other players and staff have not been paid for the last two months – one of the worst in the club’s history –on and off the pitch with Boro being relegated to the conference North.
Redfearn fumed “ Things are getting ridiculous now. None of the players who were released have been paid, while all the staff are owed two months and my assistant manager, Eric Winstanley is owed 3 months.
I have been advised by the League Mnagers Association and the PFA not to bring any more players in until this is sorted. You just can’t work in this sort of situation because the word has got out now. Any player you talk to nowasks straight away if the wages are being paid at the club. A player turned us down last week to sign for Blyth Spartans which is just embarrassing for the club. He added “Players can’t go 2 or 3 months without being paid – some of them have mortgages and young families.”
I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I’ve discovered that I can sue the club for 12 months pay because it is a breach of my contract but I don’t want it to come to that.> I wanthappy players andthings to be on a level playing field, when people are not being paid that is not going to happen. We desperately need to sign players because we start pre-season training in 3 weeks but that isn’t going to happen as things stand.

For some time, the Board has had serious concerns about the way in which Scarborough has been operated and as to how it will be operated in the future, in particular, in relation to non-payment of Football Creditors (including players, staff, other clubs, the Football Association and the Conference).
It has made these concerns clear to Scarborough on several occasions and reiterated them at a meeting on 16 May 2006, at which Scarborough agreed to provide certain important information that had been requested.
On 31 May 2006, Scarborough provided some of the requested information, some of which was incomplete, unsatisfactory and inadequate and raised further concerns.
On 2 June 2006, the Board was informed that Scarborough had entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement under the Insolvency Act 1986; its third such arrangement in approximately 6 years.
Or to use Hughesys phrase to sum it up
"Robbing Peter to pay Paul!"
On of their fans has asked the question at which point they became concerned about the debt £500k? £750k? £900k
All very sad, fear for them greatly if they don't bounce back straight away and by Jesus with Kett, Nunny, Deroylsden, Celtis, Hgate and this seasons dark horses Hyde it's a tough league to get out of a swe well no (apart from this year when we steamrollered it in about 2 weeks)
Anymore Timperley Seadog?
