Have you noticed:
We don't seem to go for simple tap ins nowadays. All the goals we score are of the highest calibre which in all honesty would grace the premiership. I sometimes wonder whether Andy Gray would be heard drooling when he saw them.
Seriously though, the goals I had seen last season and in the friendlies so far this season; have been top drawer. Made from excellant movement towards the box and around the box and some incisive passing. For instance, even though he has a few critics, I still see Azza strike the ball beautifully when playing passes forward; he has different ways of striking the ball for every situation, and generally they are great to watch from the gate 6 corner when kicking towards Golf Road. Last season I saw the through passes lead to several goals, especially when Colin Little chases them down.
I still think there is a lot to be positive about, yes I also have one or two small concerns about our defence. However the midfield and forward line looks very strong. We have much more counter attacking pace, I found that games last season left us exposed a little when going forward. When the younger players are brought on later in the game, the standards continue and their pace and enthusiasm makes me feel very positive. I hope I am right, but I feel some teams may struggle against us but of course time will tell. We will see how they get on when we play from Saturday, as Graham says, do not read too much into the friendlies.
Looking forward to Saturday a great deal, and good luck to everybody at the club.
Cheers and see you all soon
