Just read all the banter under the above thread.......Alty will be staying up this season from the spirit showed in the last three games and the players GH has signed we have sufficient firepower and creativity to make and take our chances against the teams we should have beat easily last season ie G & N; Crawley etc.

If moss lane can become a fortress this season and we pick up sufficient draws this season away we should settle around midtable. What we need is the run of form which we showed around Jan / Feb last year get some confidence back in the team and the results will come.

Take this saturday on paper we should beat St Albans 2 or 3 nil, lets hope lucks on our side and we show the passing and determination to put the opposition under pressure to win the ball like we showed against S Boro.

Finally, whoever the childish Mac fan whos name in unknown, please put your name up would love to meet you next time will be at Mac or does your mummy and daddy not let you !!!!

Come on Alty

Macc and Alty are very similair (apart from we're a better club and fans )

I reckon if Alty were in Macc's position we would have similair crowds \ achievements. The simple fact is we should have BOTH been Football League Clubs years a go, but we are not.

It would be great for Macc to come down, maybe with Bury, Stockport or Rochdale with Stalybridge come up from the Conference North (oh yes and us and Vics staying put)

The fact is you're not in our position, and since about 82/83, bar 1 season, it’s never looked likely. Those days of possible league promotion have gone, and you know it, the best you can hope for is surviving and hoping local league rivals drop down.

I'd agree historically Macc and Altrinscum are similar sized clubs, but the difference is we have progressed over the past 20 years, winning everything you can in non-league along the way. Now we are an established league club of over 10 years.

One day Macc will drop back into the Conference, but I’d rather we are a yo-yoing club between the league and Conf, than like you between Conf and Conf North!
