| - to Leigh RMI now and ****ing get Maddox back. Admit a mistake was made letting him go and get him back NOW. Would he say no if offered? Give them Munroe and maybe Lugsden on a loan deal?
We were dreadful today. Totally embarrassed by an average side and its back to the same ****e as the end of last season. The nucleus of the team has been together for a while, but no one knew where their team mates were. Bowler was constantly in good positions, but no-one had any idea he was on the pitch.
Joe O Neill is running out of time for me and could be a good bet to lose is place when Thompson gets fit. He was brought in to take the scoring burden off Little, but someone needs to tell him that to score goals, you need to shoot.
I VERY embarrassing day to be an Alty fan, and hopefully a player as well. Players need to be hurt by this and show us how much it hurts by nicking a 1-0 at Rushden next week! |

Joz Mitten scored for Flixton yesterday - clearly a man in form |

Agree with most of your post, especially regarding Mark Maddox. There doesn't seem to be any point releasing a player and not replacing him (same with Chris Adams). Joe O'Neil was awful today, but show me an Alty player who wasn't. He's still a decent player, who tried very hard to find space for himself and shoot, but D&R had an excellent defence and so it was difficult for him and the other strikers. I personally don't think there is a problem for us going forward - defensively we were truly a shambles. If Scott is a left back, then so am I! He gave the ball away every single time today and Aspinall wasn't much better. In fact, it may seem an odd thing to say, but if we'd had two half decent full backs, we may have been competitive. Most of their goals came from defensive mistakes on either flank, where their number 7 especially was taking the proverbial piss. Fingers crossed that Rushden have a bad day against us next week.

Is the the same maddox that gave away about twenty pens last year?

I thought I saw Maddox in the main stand this afternoon. |

If only our defenders had been quick enough to have been able to give away a penalty! Scotty and Aspinall didn't even get close to the guys they were supposed to be marking. |

I have never felt it astute to play a predominently right footed player in any left sided position. Especially left back. |

Scotty aint a left back, but where else can you play him?? it should be either him OR asa.
Same with Peyton, he's not a left winger, but a central defensive guy playing out of position (with a decent looking winger on the bench)
Ok weve played the same team for the opening 6 games. Time to change it round a bit. Anyone know when Potts can come back into the fold???

Peyton is left footed & was reasonable pre season.
Can anyone enlighten us? |

Both right backs, but one far better than the other, but the other is our leading scorer! |

but you still need the best players in the team in their best positions. It should not be beyong one or 2 others to be competent penalty takers. |

Although not scoring Joe O'Neill's performance against St Albans won us 3 points and although in the past Peter Thompson was a good player he is currently 5 stone from being fit. |

if he eats plenty of carbs he'll soon be able to put on that 5 stone he needs! |

No you can't have him back so sod off.
Very surprised and even happier when you let him go and we got him. Proper Centre half who'd die for the cause. Bloody fool still loves Alty though despite being shat on by them.
Don't want any of your lot instead of him just wish we'd got him a few years ago hes teaching our young lads loads |

What on earth are you talking about?
He was released, these things happen.

Does anyone really think that had Maddox been playing instead of Talbot the result would have been any different today?
OK perhaps releasing Maddox without finding a replacement was a little silly (although I'm sure Graham didn't do it on purpose) but Maddox is not the answer to our problems.
Before this game Talbot has hardly put a foot wrong and he did no worse than anyone else out there today. |

Mark Maddox didn't play in last years 5-0 defeat by Dagenham, but he did play in the 5-0 defeat at York. Make of that what you will. |

What Maddox did bring though was a bit of a bollocking on the pitch when needed (and plenty were needed from minute zero to minute 93 yesterday). You would always see him geeing the players up all game.
I don't see Bushell doing that, which surprises me. Someone needed to get a grip yetsrday and no one seemed willing to do it. Surely the job of the captain?
Get ****ing Hefferman in!!
We'll win 1-0 at Rushden and we can forget all this |

i agree we needed a leader out there, on sunday and were found wanting,im not saying maddox would have made it a different score but at least there the fans would of knew their was a player who would of died for the cause and not gone hiding like a good few of them did, putting chalmers on at centre half admits grahams mistake.if we cant play football then at least show some passion, we were way off the pace in the first half, bushell hasnt produced the form he shown when he was on loan, but at the moment im sure hes found it a culture shock because halifax played great football last year were as we stuggle to play any at times. but after saying all that lets stick together and get behind these red and white bastards!!! | |
