i am sorry to say, but Paul Gee, a long time Altrincham footy fan, died yesterday. He had been going to the alty games for many years and he will be missed by many, many people.
we send our condolences to his family,he was certainly a character that will never be forgotten. love you Tango Man!!!
love from Tony and family x x x x
As a former playing colleague of Jimmy on the old Supporters Team (Woody, Spratty, Tony McClennon, Mark O'Hara, Alan Murray, Phil Reynolds et al), sorry to anyone I've missed. I am deeply saddened by this news.
Hopefully he's now in a better place where Alty win all the time
As Tony said many people will have known Paul from the years he followed Alty home and away.
In 1978 Gerry Berman paid for Paul to go to Wembley to watch Alty lift the FA Trophy for the first time after he had a kidney transplant.
He has like most of us been an Alty fan for all his life. Although he hasn't been able to attend games in recent years he has still followed the team and often called me for the result on Saturday evening.
He will deeply missed by many and our thoughts are with his Mum, Alison and Caroline and their families at this time.
Like the other posters above, I played with Paul on the supporters team for many years. A fun character, with a constant smile on his face, who loved Alty, like us all! Very sad news. Sincere condolonces to all Paul's family.
very sorry to hear this sad news, Although i haven't seen Paul for a long time he will always be remembered by those that new him. Although there are many great memories one that stands out is the sponsored walk to Blackpool for the kidney unit that treated Paul which all of the supporters team that came on the walk will know what a laugh we had
I didn't know him as well as the lads above but I do remember him as integral part of the gang that used to stand to the right of the singers at Alty when I was younger.
Always seemed to be laughing as well, I wasn't aware of his medical problems which is probably a tribute to him.
Again, like Ecky, I didn't really know him very well, but had spoken to him at games in the past. Very sad news and thoughts are with his family and friends.
