Good point, Cranverro. I really relate to the character of Daria because, when I was in high school I was like the male version of her. Almost totally ostracized, and for basically the same reason.
I didn't much care for Daria on BEAVIS & BUTT-HEAD, because she came off as kind of a male-basher, but she seemed to mellow a bit with age.
Actually, BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD was set in Texas. The town of Highland is a real place. How do I know this? Well, without getting into a long, rambling story, basically I did five years time in this fundamentalist "Christian" concentration camp called Mt. Pisgah from age 12-17. (Hell on earth, I tell you!!!) Their curriculum was published in that town, and featured these cutesy-fruitsy little cartoon characters with names like Ace, Racer and Reginald. Actually, I was always looking forward to the episode in which Beavis and Butt-head would meet up with these clowns and beat the living crap out of them. Too bad it never aired. lol.
