Daria is an almost verbatim retelling of my grade school days. I had a friend that was mostly like Daria and a little like Jane, but she was the one with the older brother (Trent). Her best friend was alot like Jane. So, I don't think there is a character comparable to me on there, which is why I said the cameraman. I identify with the camera, becasue watching daria is pretty much exactly how things looked from my eyes as I grew up.
I dislike Tom immensely. There was a Tom character who was dating the "daria" I knew and it was sort of the beginning of the end of being best friends with "daria". Tom is smug and just makes my skin crawl. He was better with words than me and a charmer and I could see it and knew he was no good for my "daria" but I couldn't convey that to her.
