Yeah Barry, a 6K forklift ain't very big and wouldn't cost much to rent for a day- I'd get a compact one that was 8K-10K rated and be safe, and you can place it right where you want it in the shop while you have the fork. I unloaded and moved my 16x60 South Bend lathe with my backhoe with forks on the loader bucket, and set it down exactly where I wanted it- same with the Bridgeport. And I have my little Clark Trukloader fork that lives in the shop for moving blocks and such, lifts 1K up to 7', and will fit through a 3' doorway- loaded Bobby's new block with it last weekend
