I have .......

October 26 2010, 7:15 AM

one pair of DOVE-C heads complete...$450.00 plus shipping from 36545

I also have one pair of D2OE-AB (Police Interceptor) heads bare...no valves,
springs, keepers or retainers.....$450.00 plus shipping from 36545..

I have sold several sets of the D2OE-AB heads to local mud racers...That is the prefered head where the class calls for a stock like cast iron head.

Let me know if you are interested........Sol Stewart

Those D2OE-AB PI Heads blow the hell out of DOVE Cs

October 26 2010, 8:14 AM

The have small plugs, pushrod guide plates, CJ Valves and halfway between CJ/SCJ and common 429/460s size intake ports. Chambers are pretty hefty though. Jump on them!

A little known fact is one of the Car Mags in the day rated the Mopar PI as the fastest top end street car.........If you believe the FoMoCo offering did not match that.......................

zzzzzzzz

The D2OE-AB heads

October 26 2010, 5:12 PM

are in good shape...Cleaned, painted alum color, no valves....The heads have not been cut on....Nothing done to the valve seats since they left the factory. Bowl work and blending this into runners yeals good results.
The intake port is perfect...The exhaust port can be raised and squared at the top for improved flow.......

I have 2 pair of C8VE.

October 26 2010, 1:56 PM

$100.00 per pair. I am in southern Indiana. About 50 miles northwest of Louisville KY.
One pair came off a low mileage 460. No burnt, sunk valves. Block had no ridge but the heads are pretty dirty.

Re: 385 HEADS

October 27 2010, 6:40 AM

D2 heads are good for doorstops. Not much else.

D3's are good heads, but larger chambers than the D0VE and C9VE.

Scott W. ....Keep believing

October 27 2010, 8:56 AM

that the D2 heads are good doorsteps and the racers with the DOVE-Cs and the other 385 heads will keep getting their ass kicked.
I have a set of D2OE-ABs on what started life as a 514 crate motor(slightly
larger now) with a roller and the motor is making 800 HP on an engine dyno, not a chassis dyno....I know a number of mud racers running the D2s against
385s with DOVE-Cs and kicking the DOVE-Cs ass big time....
Talk to Gary and Hoyt Grimes in Atlanta, they are making 1100 HP with their
600 cu in version of the 385...with pump gas....

You didn't understand my post

October 27 2010, 10:04 AM

Sol -

I replied to Johns post and was referring to the D2VE-AA heads he had - "BRENT I HAVE THESE HEADS 4/D2VE-AA 2/D1AE 2/C8VE-E 2/D3VE-A2A I HOPE THIS IS SOME HELP." The D2VE heads are a one year only design, and a lousy one at that.

I'm well aware of the attributes of PI/D20E heads and agree that they are a better design than the DOVE-C or C8/C9VE heads.

D2 heads are definitely the best and the worst, I have been a numbers guy for so long and it was not until I read this thread that it really hit me what a great example this is of why the WHOLE number is so important! LOL Thanks guys, Hawkrod
