for sale. I bought two sets and have desided to go with the other due to them haveing better rockers and adjusters. I do not think there is any reason to bring up what i have in something either. I was going to use them, however i found a strong set , and i am using these instead. However we made a deal through craiglist that you had posted for sale, not here. I due trade , buy and sell parts , and like any business, i would prefer it to make alittle money along the way.It helps me pay for the stuff that i keep and use. Being as i am the only one working and raising a 4 mounth old it helps out.

Shouldn't have called you out on the ad - I apologise for the hasty response.
There is just a bit more tio the story though.
You found them on C/L but I recognized your name from the forum and for that reason was more willing to deal with you.
You paid for an incomplete set of rockers/shafts and got a set of lifters for free. (used shell type)
By the time I shipped everything, the set of rockers was complete.
I never asked for the difference in value because your a Forum member and I'd like to think it's not always about the money. (Maybe I banged my head at some point).
I'm not a vendor, but maybe I need to take a more business-like approach to these things. Return to Ebay?
The economy sucks and at times I assume people are, to varying degrees, basically in the same boat.
For me personally...if I can meet my obligations, and still play with cars on any level, it goes a looong way towards keeping my sanity in check. I know there are others that feel the same way.
On at least 2 occasions , I've donated stuff that could have been sold just to keep someones project moving forward.
Normally I wouldn't care or give any thought to what anyone does with something purchased.
This time it bugged me for some reason or another. Timing? Frustration with everything in general? Who knows.
Maybe it was seeing the rockers post for double the money?
Shouldn't bother me, It's not the first time someone flips something they purchased.
My situation isn't very different from yours - 3 kids, a house and related overhead.
Selling stuff used to be done to keep the FE habit as self supporting as possible.
Then the wife was laid off and proceeds have at times been applied towards the household instead of the new carb or heads.
In the end, the parts are rightfully yours to sell, trade, put under glass or whatever.
As for me, my approach to selling stuff will be very different going forward.
My apologies to all for the disgruntled post.
Regards,
Norm C

I did make the deal and paid for the rockers incomplete. Norm thought he had loaned one rocker out, so i made the deal for the other 15 rockers , shafts and stands. The shell lifters i got , yes used, cant be to much value on used shell lifters? They where not the make or break on the deal for sure. Like you said by the time you shipped them you had found the one missing rocker.I simple found two sets, bought them. Keep the better of the two and tryed to sell the other to help pay for that. Which now i havent heard from the guy who was going to buy them. Again im like you, i fool with this stuff to scratch me FE bug, and pay some bills along the way. If i didnt do it in this fashion i couldnt have the stuff i do to play with.I agree most peolple are in the same boat. I also have donated stuff to members here. Not that that has anything to do with this matter. As for how you sell from now on , that is up to you. Craigslist is good and free, ebay however is not. Some times you can do real well some times not so well, by the time you add in all there fees and so on. Also in line with both above statements you and me . As with you my wife is laid off, lost our insurance so on. Did that right before Christmas. Fooling with parts and cars keep my mind off the bad stuff. Hope all is well now that we got all this out . I regreat that any of this caused any problems. Best wishes Norm , and i hope you get more time in fooling with your cars.
