now sex pistols s punk band or was a punk band now re relesaing old single and doing gigs charging £35 for a ticket sound very punk to you? and johnny rotten saying the monarchy has "done alot for our country" bolloks thats not the sex pistols i listen to no sid vichous no band and people who critasise bands like blink 182 for being "comercial" seem to forget that they never pretended not to be and they talk about the sex pistols being true punk well i say not anymore they not thanks for reading.
As much as I love the sex pistols music I've absolutely no intention of buying any of their new stuff or watching them live. even if they were at Reading I would have boycotted it on principle.

id say that amen realy are a true punk band they stand for alot of things that sex pistols used to and they cannot ever be accused of being comercial and the sex pistols are popular because they rebel against things amen are loved by their few dedicted fans and hated by trendy faulse fans as all good punk bands should be
...I was cynical when the Pistols got back together six years ago, but that went out the window when I saw them. They are awesome. I ordered my ticket within a minute of them going on sale.
Punk was never about NOT making money, or about staying poor. Punk (and I'm old enough to have been there...just) was about an alternative to bloated stadium rock; about songs with socio-political issues (rather than dungeons and dragons twaddle); and about the idea that you could do both those things YOURSELF. Punk changed the attitudes of a large part of a generation (myself included) from one of subservience to one of believing that you can do what you want to and you don't have to be told what to do by your "elders and betters."
sex pistols realy shoulda left it it was good but now they changed and as has been said they tryin to be what they were and they failed i mean sids dead so they aint realy the sex pistols anymore
...it may have escaped your attention, but Glen matlock was in the band BEFORE Sid. Also Matlock wrote the songs and played on ALL the demos AND the first two or three singles. Sid didn't even play bass on Never Mind the Bollocks - Steve Jones did as Sid was so useless/smacked out of his head.
The band playing at Crystal Palace IS the Sex pistols.
Well said reg. People dont usually realise that the band were probebly a better band (musically) with Glen Matlock. As for the making money thing Punk is a way of expressing yourself and making music which deals with real issues. And as then never got any money off of Malcom Mclaren the first time round then why not make some money now.
yeah i agree, sure the pistols were extremely revolutionary in the 70s but lets be fair when you listen to them now it's all a bit tame... and i don't even want to imagine 50 year old guys "friggin in the riggin"!!! let alone see it live on stage! please pistols don't try and drag your legend into the millenium, leave it in the 70s where it was great and belongs...
