I think the Strokes are awful, but none of those bands you mentioned could do a better job of headlining. Pulp (don't like them either) and Jane's could though.

I saw the srokes last year when they were moved to the main stage from the radio 1 stage, thinking they've gotta be good to be moved up. They were absolutely shit! And how they've got from the Radio 1 stage to headlining main stage the next year I don't know. They must have seriously kissed some ass to get there!!

Personally I think it's all about a variety, I don't care what anyone says watching the same "style" of band all day is mind-numbing as a visit to the Second stage at Ozzfest would show you..

So go and watch some bands in the Carling Tent that you've never heard of when you don't want to be at the main stage. If you stand there all weekend you might find your new favourite band and you're pretty much definitely going to see someone who is going to be massive in 5 years time..

Furthermore, you have to have ranged appeal.. If Reading had nothing but NuMetal and NuPunk all weekend I wouldn't go.. and I'm sure a lot of others wouldn't and sadly, as you can see when you walk down any street in any town the crowd would comprise entirely of those little kids (we're talking less than 12 years old here) wearing their Marilyn Manson / Iowa / Linkin Park t-shirts, yes I know older people like these bands but it's the Kids that made them.. Remember Manson / Papa Roach / Eminem on Sunday last year? hundreds of small kids and their parents running around..

Slipknot this year will be the perfect example as no one over the age on 9 likes them anymore and it's going to seem quite pointless this band on stage acting all tough and violent to a crowd of primary school kids.. just wait and see..

Anyway off the subject I have to get up at 3.30am to go to the Airport tomorrow.. WOOOOOOO!!!!
